This song actually has some cool history. So In 2020 I was working on a bunch of stuff, specifically two albums which obviously never ended up being finished. In the midst of creative frustration I set up my voice memos and just recorded a session of me messing around on my synth/keyboard. Putting the drum sequencer on the first setting and playing the first three chords at the end of the keyboard with the arpeggiating filter on in a 'daring' act of improvisation and just kind of riffed about wanting to make something people will like. Later refined the lyrics a bit more but in the process the topic warped a bit and became a lot more of a conversation between me and the listener as well as about creative frustration. while this stale synth arpeggio repeats and the drums loop. I wanted to include a lot of the raw lyrics from that session to try to make the song still feel loosely assembled and thought out. My favorite part is the end, which I think it builds up to nicely. The yells of "I see you, I feel you, do you see me too" I think convey what I wanted perfectly. The first song that deals with the theme of audience but definitely not the last.
